Karachi police distributed water bottles among students in extreme hot weather

KARACHI: In a rare gesture of compassion, Karachi police on Tuesday distributed water bottles among students and citizens during the extreme hot weather.

The police officials visited different examination centres in New Karachi area and provided water bottles to the students, who were taking metrication examination amid load-shedding.

The officials, in a police mobile, distributed cold water bottles among passersby at different points in the area.

Police officials are often criticized of their behavior, but the good deed put a very positive impact on the masses and they chanted slogans in favor of the police forces.

Earlier, in a revolutionary step, Karachi police on January 14, had launched a mobile app ‘Police 4 U’ to provide immediate support to the citizens.

Addressing the app launching ceremony, Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi, Dr Ameer Ahmed Sheikh had said that people could lodge their complaints and seek police’s help via the new app.

He had said that they wanted change the decades-old ‘Thana culture’ and striving to provide police support at the doorstep to the citizens.
