ISLAMABAD: In an apparent violation of court orders against Jang Group owner Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman and journalist Amir Mir, the Islamabad police are resorting to delaying tactics to register case against the two, ARY News reported Sunday.
A sessions court in Islamabad had ordered SHO Margala on Saturday registration of first information report (FIR) against Geo owner, Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman and Amir Mir, brother of Hamid Mir, for leveling false allegations against army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
According to well-informed sources, the top government ministry was compelling police not to lodge any case by tomorrow (Monday). Delay will allow Amir Mir and Mir Shakeel to acquire stay order for preventing legal proceedings, or perhaps arrest, for the time being.
Police are currently using delaying tactics on accounts of what sections to be invoked to register a case against the two persons.
Sources told that police are asked not lodge case until further orders from the ministry concerned.
