On February 19, unknown terrorists had fired on a patrolling vehicle of Motorway Police in Faisalabad’s Miranwala Bangla area and fled the scene.

The incident left an assistant sub-inspector, Imran, and two constables, Ishaq and Rifaqat, dead.

Two days ago, police and intelligence personnel conducted a joint raid in Rawalpindi and apprehended three ‘culprits’ of the attack, who were said to be linked with a banned outfit.

Two of the arrested suspects hail from Rawalpindi, while the other is a resident of Jaranwala.

Sources said that the suspects also confessed to have waged an attack on Dunya News office in Faisalabad. It was further reported that the suspect belonging to Jaranwala acted as facilitator of the other two hitmen.
