Police, PTI protesters clash in Islamabad during rally

ISLAMABAD: A brawl was witnessed between the supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Police in Islamabad during anti-rigging rally called by the party on Friday, ARY News reports.

All roads leading to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) were sealed and heavy numbers of security personnel were deployed on the routes.

Sources reported that the protesters tried to enter the Red Zone on which the police started retaliating. PTI supporters attacked the cops with batons due to which one police officer was wounded.

The protesters had raised effigies of ECP and protest signs. They also burned tyres and chanted slogans against election rigging.
