KARACHI: Police have registered an FIR of the killing of a policeman and a passer-by in a firing incident in Karachi’s posh locality of Defence Housing Authority (DHA), ARY News reported.
According to police, the case has been registered at Darakshan police station against five suspects under sections 302 and 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.
The firing incident took place at Street No. 26, Phase VI, in Khayaban-e-Bukhari late on Saturday night. 35-year-old police constable identified as Khalid Mehmood and a passer-by, namely Ramzan, were gunned down and another passer-by Saeed Ahmed was injured the firing incident.
The deceased cop was posted at the Darakshan police station. He was shot dead when he was on intelligence duty.

The armed men who seemed drunk had managed to escape before a police team reached the site. They, however, left a white coloured SUV at the crime scene.
The police also recovered four empty shells of a pistol from the crime scene and sent them to the forensic division of the Sindh Police.
Later, the police arrested one of the key suspects identified as Nazeer Kandhari from a private hospital.
