Lahore honor killing: Police submits report in court

LAHORE: Police on Thursday submitted its report in Lahore High Court (LHC) about the murder of Farzana Parveen outside the court, ARY News reported.

A division bench of the LHC headed by Justice Umar Atta Bandial heard the case, in which CCPO Lahore Shafeeq Ahmed Gujjar submitted the written report.

Farzana Parveen was recently bludgeoned to death by her relatives outside the high court over marrying a man of her choice.

The police report says that the crime scene was 100 meters away from the gate of the high court. The policemen deployed for the security of the court could not leave their security duty so as they couldn’t go to the rescue of the victim.

The CCPO informed the court that four out of six nominated accused and nine out of 20 unidentified suspects, had so far been arrested.

Police will present the charge sheet of the case within a week’s time,” the CCPO assured the court.

The court adjourned the hearing until 10 July.
