Policemen complain being restricted by Sharif family at Raiwind House

LAHORE: The Sharif family has reportedly restricted the movement of police officers who have been deployed at their residence in Jati Umrah, Raiwind.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz, and son-in-law Captain (retired) Safdar are currently released on parole after the demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.

The Sharif family’s residence in Rawind has been declared a sub-jail and a large number of police officers have been deployed for security purposes, and to monitor the movements of the convicted Sharif family members.

However, several policemen have complained that their movement has been restricted within the Raiwind House and they have been confined to certain areas of the sprawling residence.

The police have complained that they couldnt move freely within the residence and were bound to seek prior permission. They said that the Sharif family had violated the jail procedures several times ever since they have been released on parole.

The policeman have also complained over misbehaviour by personal security guards and other employees of the Raiwind House, and have registered their complaints with the high-level police officers.

Police also said that officers special branch has been discriminated against and the treatment of the jail officers have been unfortunate. They said that Abdul Shakoor, the security incharge of Nawaz Sharif, has told them that they cannot enter in the ‘no go’ area.
