Polish first lady snubs Trump’s handshake

WARSAW: US President Donald Trump’s handshake was “snubbed” by Polish President Andrzej Duda’s wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda in a hilarious way.

The videos of the moment have taken the social media by storm when the first lady of Poland darts her hand towards US first lady Melania Trump, while inadvertently rejecting Trump’s hand extended for her.

After shaking hand with Duda, Trump almost leaned towards the Polish first lady which went unnoticed.

Though after shaking hand and exchanging greetings with Melania, Kornhauser-Duda turned towards Trump.

Both the first families were on stage to perform official greetings in front of the media on Thursday.

It is Trump’s second trip to Europe as president and shortly before leaving for a potentially fractious G20 meeting in Germany, Trump appeared at pains to soothe US allies after unnerving them in May by failing to endorse the principle of collective defence enshrined in Article Five of the NATO treaty.

In his speech near a monument that commemorates the 1944 Warsaw Uprising against Nazi Germany, the president painted the fight against terrorism, illegal immigration and excessive government powers as an existential one.
