KARACHI: Director General (DG) Rangers Sindh, Major General Rizwan Akhter has said that political shelter will have to be removed for the sake of restoring peace in Lyari – ARY News reports.
While briefing the Prime Minister at a high-level law and order meeting here on Friday, the DG Rangers told that different confronting groups in Lyari are backed by political parties, he told that Rangers only acts for the sake of controlling the situation.
Major General Rizwan Akhter told that various influential figures have been favoring the mobsters. He told the Prime Minister that peace cannot be restored in Karachi, until the political backing of gangsters is not abandoned.
At this, the Prime Minister directed the DG Rangers to an indiscriminate action against the ones favoring gangsters and to take every possible action for restoring peace in the locality.
PM Nawaz directed Police and Rangers to utilize all the means for making Lyari a peaceful town.
