Political uncertainty hampers economic growth, says PM Sharif

DUSHANBE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the opponents are busy cooking up conspiracies against the government through hurling allegations and filing baseless cases against the ruling political family, ARY News reported on Friday.

He expressed these sentiments after concluding his two-day official visit of Tajikistan while talking to reporters before his return to Pakistan.

He came down hard on his opponents and said that the political instability, in the aftermath of Panamgate investigation, affecting the economy and ongoing development projects adversely.

Referring adverse impacts of political uncertainty on stock market, the premier claimed that his family has been subjected to accountability test even before he stepped in politics.

He said no allegation against his family has ever been proved adding that the ruling family would succeed in the Panama probe.

The premier also said that his government, in an unprecedented way, has addressed energy issues by inaugurating a number of power plants across the country.

On Kashmir territorial dispute, the premier said India has been conducting atrocities in its occupied part of Kashmir and in such situation, trade with the neighbouring country is impossible to pursue.

He also urged India to stop its atrocities in the occupied Kashmir.
