ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister, Pervez Rasheed has said that Pakistan is a democratic and civilized state, where politics and journalism have entered into a new era of rule of law – ARY News reports.
Addressing a ceremony here on Friday, Pervez Rasheed said that keeping in view the current situation in the country, the way the affectees opted for a legal and constitutional action against a media organization, is a positive sign. He referred to the petition filed in Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), by the Ministry of Defence, as a constructive measure.
Rasheed said that with these positive and adequate steps taken by the institutions; Pakistan has emerged as a true democratic and civilized state.
The Information Minister further said that the Government promoted an extraordinary political culture, by respecting the mandate of all the political forces in the country.
