ISLAMABAD: Heavy downpours in the Capital city has exposed the drainage system at the Islamabad International Airport where accumulated rainwater in the cargo area as well as runway affected flight operations.
A video has emerged showing runway and cargo area inundated with rain water, thus affecting in-bound and outbound flights at the airport.
The rainwater is reportedly accumulated at the airport for more than 36 hours and its lack of drainage also exposes the poor system to tackle rain-related emergencies.
