Positive development made on Pak-Iran gas project: Minister
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that positive development was made recently on Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline Project, ARY News reported Thursday.
The minister told the meeting of Senate sub-committee of Gas and Oil standing committee that Iran understands the repercussions of global sanctions.
Managing director Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) said gas worth Rs 8 billion was stolen from Karak and its loss had to be borne by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). He told that gas production was being reduced by two percent in Karak due to pilferage.
He said electricity up to 1000 mega watts could be produced from gas, which is being supplied to CNG sector.
