ISLAMABAD: Minister for Power Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government has signed agreements for generation of 28,000 megawatt in next five years in addition to the 10,000 megawatt already fed into the national grid since 2013.

Addressing a press conference, he said Imran Khan knew nothing about water policy, circular debt and its reasons and how to solve power sector problems.

The PTI chief was unaware about the electricity transmission and distribution issues, he added.

He said Imran Khan could not make people of Pakistan fool with his fake performance, presentation and tall claims in PTI’s 100 day unreal plan.

Awais said the PTI government mentioned water policy in its 100 day plan, while the PML-N government had already announced a water policy which was also signed by KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak.

He said the PTI already accepted in its plan, that the PML-N government was producing electricity according to demand, as there was no mention of energy shortages by them.

“The present government has figured out all the issues relating to transmission of electricity and was working on a plan to address the problems,” he claimed.

He said five years back, Imran Khan claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will generate so much electricity that it will meet power needs of the whole country but, he claimed, in reality Khan’s government could not generate a single megawatt of electricity in the province.
