DERA GHAZI KHAN: Angry tribesmen taken Wapda workers hostage who were sent to Fort Monroe, a tourist attraction in Dera Ghazi Khan, ARY News reports on Wednesday.
 
A 35-member team of the Wapda staff was sent to Fort Monroe after power theft reports. The team was ordered to remove illegal power connections and transformers under the orders of the Power Minister Abid Sher Ali.

The Wapda team reached to the area and removed illegal power connections and over 30 transformers.

Angry mobs taken the Wapda staff hostage, when they were returning back.

The Wapda team comprised of 35 members, the local officials said.

After the incident reported by the ARY News, the authorities taken notice of the issue and  the border military police called to secure safe release of the power utility staffers.

The officials have reached the area to hold talks with the tribesmen.
