PPO challenged in SC

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Protection Ordinance (PPO) has been challenged in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) here on Monday, ARY News reports.

The petition was filed by Colonel (Retd.) Inaam-ur-Raheem. It is stated that the ordinance is opposite to the rights provided by the constitution which guarantees the right of life for the citizens. No citizen can be taken into custody illegally without any reason under the constitution.

The petitioner stated that under the PPO citizens can be killed after a warning.

It is pleaded to the court to declare the law null and void as it violates the constitution.
