KARACHI: Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Nisar Khuhro on Sunday pronounced behavior of the center towards Sindh discriminatory and announced to hold sit-in protests on April 30 across Sindh against power cuts and shortage of water, ARY News reported.

“Protest sit-ins will be staged on April 30 in every district of the Sindh against electricity loadshedding, while a protest will be carried out on May 13 at provincial level,” he said while addressing a press conference at the meeting of PPP Council Sindh at PPP Media Cell.

The president PPP Sindh said the federal government should hand over constitutional rights of the province.

“We will not leave the inhabitants of Sindh alone and thwart the attempt of pushing the province in darkness,” he said.

He also said the real founder of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and it was carried further by former president Asif Ali Zardari.

It is pertinent here to mention that the Sindh has been facing prolonged power cuts up to hours in a day in different cities.

Last year, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif requested him to put an end to power outages in the province.

He had also asked the PM to take notice of unnecessary meddling of federal government in a power plant being constructed by the government of Sindh.
