PPP asks Faisal Raza Abidi to resign from Senate membership
KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has demanded Senator Faisal Raza Abidi to resign from his membership of the upper house, for his controversial statements that repeatedly surfaced on media – ARY News reports.
According to details, PPP president, Raja Pervez Ashraf demanded resignation from Faisal Raza Abidi earlier today upon the consent of PPP co-Chairman, Asif Ali Zardari. Abidi, earlier was issued show cause notices many times by the party, for violating party policies.
It was now that he was formally asked to resign from his Senate membership.
Meanwhile, in his exclusive word with ARY News, Faisal Raza Abidi said that his membership was bestowed by the party and vowed to return it as it is. He also announced his retirement from politics.
Abidi however, expressed his grief over the declaration regarding him of violating party policies. He inquired the party leadership to elaborate what powers were vested in him and how did he violate these.
Moreover, Faisal Raza Abidi told that he will resign from his membership of the Senate tomorrow and will talk to media in detail there outside the Parliament House.
