MALAKAND: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, while cancelling the party’s planned rally in Malakand on Sunday, complained that his party is being denied a level playing field ahead of the July 25 polls.

Speaking at a press conference here, he demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take measures to ensure that every political party has a level-playing field for canvassing for the elections.

“The PPP is not being provided a favorable atmosphere. It is being singled out before elections,” the PPP chairman complained and accused the administration of creating hurdles in his party’s election campaign.

“PPP and other political parties are being prevented from taking part in elections.”

Mr. Bhutto-Zardari said he desired that all parties should be offered equal opportunities. Efforts are underway to create the air of fear during the ongoing election campaign, he claimed and asserted, “Free, fair and transparent elections are our right.”

He expressed the optimism that his party will form a government at the centre. The PPP desired elections on the dot and Inshallah they will take place as planned, he hoped.

Terrorists wanted to hamper the election process by creating the air of fear, he opined.
