PPP has always given sacrifices for democracy: Khursheed Shah

Syed Khursheed Shah said that that PPP is saving democracy and constitution, not a person.

He was speaking to media after condoling former Pakistan Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Abdullah Hussain Haroon on the death of his mother Parveen Haroon.

PPP Senator Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan said that the joint session of the Parliament was adjourned due to the flood situation in the country. He added that there is a rise of flow in the rivers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Ahsan urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan to ‘free’ KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak so he could deal with the situation in his province.

The PPP Senator, commenting on the controversy between him and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, said that the “ceasefire between two Chuadhries” is a good omen for democracy. He added that PPP is a supporter of democracy.

Information Minister of Sindh Sharjeel Inam Memon, on the occasion, said that that the country is going through a critical phase. He added that terrorists are targeting religious figures and common citizens whereas Pakistan Army is fighting the militants in North Waziristan.

He urged Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and PTI to call off their sit-ins in Islamabad due to the floods in the country and pay attention to the issues of the people.

Memon further said that the efforts of former President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Patron-in-Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari are for saving democracy and the prevailing system.
