PPP leader’s son harasses citizens with impunity in Karachi
KARACHI: Son of an influential Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader is harassing the citizens of Karachi with impunity leaving no option before them than to appeal the party’s top leaders to stop him from his transgressions, ARY News reported on Monday.
Jam Tabrez, son of Jam Tamachi, is accused of several criminal activities including murder, kidnapping, misbehaving with women and aerial firing in the city.
He illegally uses a vehicle with police number plate, SPD-769, to carry out his misconducts.
Last day Jam Tabrez and his guards attacked a citizen and harassed his family. Sources said police are helpless before the punk because his father is a highly influential person. No case to date could be lodged against him. Even Rangers once took him into custody for involvement in gangster activities.
The residents of Karachi have appealed from Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto, director general Sindh Rangers and chief minister Sindh to take strict action against this son of a landlord.
Talking to ARY News, Information Minister Sindh Nasir Hussain Shah said nobody was above the law and ensured that strict action would be taken against the culprit.
“No matter whosoever’s son he is, the person who hurt a citizen would be held accountable,” he said.
He said the news would be first run on ARY News about action against him. Bilawal has directed that nobody misuses his designation, he added.
The PPP leadership has given an instant reaction to the news. Former president Asif Zardari and his daughter, Aseefa Bhutto, took notice of the incident. Aseefa said the PPP would not tolerate such gangsterdom in Karachi.
Home Minister Sindh Suhail Anwar Siyal told ARY News that Asif Zardari has directed to take immediate action against Jam Tabrez.
DIG CIA Dr Jameel Ahmed said “since young are keen to show off in public, hence they go out escorted by security guards without informing their parents which eventually leads to such cases.”
