ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed said on Wednesday that the party will file a case against Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed for what he extending threats to party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

“We will file a request for registration of a case against Sheikh Rasheed over threats,” he said while speaking to the media outside the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office in Islamabad where former president Asif Ali Zardari and the PPP chairman appeared in a graft case.

He lamented that the party chief was deliberately stopped at the entrance during his appearance before NAB, accusing the government and the bureau of willfully ignoring his security.

“Bilawal has a threat from terrorists’ sympathisers in the government,” the PPP leader said, adding that former military ruler Pervez Musharraf had done the same thing for slain former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

He warned that the party should not be compelled to give a call for street agitation.

Earlier, the federal minister had said in a tweet: “People say Bilawal is child. It is better if Bilawal plays it safe or else he would be killed in politics.”

Responding to the minister, Mr Bhutto-Zardari had tweeted: “The government has responded to my demand to sack ministers associated with banned outfits by declaring me anti-state, issuing death threats & NAB notices.” “None of this deters us from our principle stand; form joint NSC parliamentary committee & act against banned outfits.”
