As per modified searching plan, Railway police and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) will check the equipments before booking. A sticker will be placed after the equipment passes initial test to proceed further.
According to railway police, equipment will not be transferred from one city to another without having clearance sticker.
The aim of the new searching system is to restrict illegal transport of illicit items, said railway officials.
The improvement in the searching system of Pakistan Railway came after the team of Sar-e-Aam exposed involvement of railway officials in intra-city transportation of illegal weapons on December 3.
Sar-e-Aam Host Syed Iqrar-ul-Hasan caught the railway officials red-handed in taking bribes to dispatch illegal weapons from Karachi to Lahore.
