Medical Experts and doctors have revealed that patients suffering from Diabetes and pregnant women too can observe fast during the holy month of Ramadan, ARY News reported.

Doctors while permitting pregnant women and diabetes patients to observe fast advised  that they should not stop taking their prescribed medicine.

It is somewhat necessary for patients with diabetes who wish to fast during Ramadan to prepare themselves by undergoing a medical assessment and engaging in a structured education program to undertake the fast as safely as possible before a month or two.

However, fasting in pregnancy appears to be safer for mother and for baby if pregnant woman feels strong and well enough, and if her pregnancy is going well.

According to medical experts, water intake should be increased along with other drinks during Sehr and Aftar  to avoid feeling thirsty during the fast.
