Premier Imran Khan chairs federal cabinet meeting

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of federal cabinet started on Thursday with Prime Minister Imran Khan in chair here at PM House.

A six-point agenda is being deliberated during the meeting wherein federal ministers will present the progress reports of their respective departments. The PM will also be briefed on the implementation of 100-day agenda of the PTI government.

Moreover, the cabinet will likely to grant the approval to establish the National Skill University in the meeting with assistance of Turkey. The cabinet will also discuss bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Japan in the education sector, the sources informed.

The proposal of granting authority to the Finance Minister for making appointments in the economic division departments will also come under discussion, the sources added.

The cabinet is likely to give go ahead to the summaries related to the induction of experts in the monetary boards apart of the appointment of Major General Arif as the director-general of the Anti-Narcotics Force, sources said.

A day earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of federal ministers and senior party leaders directing them to take immediate steps to ameliorate institutions of the country.

PM Khan reiterated in the meeting that corruption will not be tolerated at any cost and stressed that immediate measure should be taken for the improvement of the institutions.
