ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat received the prestigious ‘Nishan-e-Imtiaz’ (military) awards in recognition of their valuable services on Saturday.
President Mamnoon Hussain conferred the awards on them during a grand event at the President House in the federal capital as a tribute to their professional services and achievements while serving the Pakistan army.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was also present on this occasion when the top military leadership of the country was being lauded.
During the ceremony, federal ministers including Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani, foreign ambassadors and top civil and military leadership were also present.
After the ceremony, CJCSC General Hayat and COAS General Bajwa called on President Mamnoon Hussain.
The president congratulated them for being conferred the awards and hoped that the entire country and the nation would benefit from their professional capabilities.
