President Mamnoon calls for unity to fight enemy

He was addressing the National Seerat Conference organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in connection with Eid Mild-un-Nabi (SAW) in Islamabad on Sunday.

The President said nation was standing with the heirs of Peshawar attack victims.

In his speech on the occasion, Mamnoon urged the nation to follow the teachings of Holy Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) to make the country cradle of peace.

The topic of the conference was ‘the Role and Responsibilities of Media in the light of Teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).

The President said there is a need to take complete guidance from Uswa-e-Hasana of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in the life.

He said Pakistan and the region is victim of bloodshed for the last many decades.  He said the nations face the difficult situations with unity.  He paid homage to the martyrs of Peshawar terrorism incident and other shuhada of such incidents.

He stressed for establishment of a just economic system. He said lavish spending creates imbalance in the society.

President stressed the need for inclusion of chapters of Islamic history and history of sub-continent in the books at primary level for guidance of the children.

He said media has played a historic role with reference to national interests but there are examples that it crossed its limits.  He said media should play its role for the betterment of the nation and country.

The National Seerat Conference was attended by Senate and National Assembly members, Ulema, religious scholars from across the country and diplomats from Islamic countries based in Islamabad.
