ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain has dismissed Chaudhry Abdul Rasheed from the post of Chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) – ARY News reports.
Sources told that President Mamnoon Hussain was forwarded the summary of Chaudhry Abdul Rasheed's dismissal along which the list of allegations on him and an inquiry report were also attached.
Rasheed had been sacked earlier too, but he was restored upon the orders of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Numerous petitions filed by the sacked PEMRA Chairman are still pending in the high court.
On the other hand, Chairman of WAPDA, Syed Raghib Abbas has also resigned from his post due to personal reasons. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has accepted his resignation and appointed former Secretary of Water and Power, Zafar Mehmood as the new Chairman.
