Pressure mounting on police to release detained FBI agent
KARACHI: City police are facing pressure to release the US national, who was arrested from Karachi airport the other day and later identified as FBI agent, ARY News reported.
Sources informed that police were facing immense pressure for the release of the detained FBI agent. Jewel Cox was arrested two days ago from Jinnah International Airport for carrying bullets in his baggage. The US authorities further added that Cox was not armed during the flight. They confirmed that Cox was the FBI agent and he was deployed in Pakistan through Miami field office.
Some media reports suggest that the detained FBI agent was sent to Pakistan to train police officers for three months. However, police have not given any official word on it.
