Priya Prakash Varrier, a name which needs no  introduction thanks to the famous wink and 26-second clip, which made her a star overnight.

The 18-year old won a million hearts with a wink in the song ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’ from her first film ‘Oru Adaar Love’.

She gained millions of new followers and is now one of the most famous Indian celebrities on Instagram but all is not hunky-dory for Priya.

According to reports in the Indian media, the actress is not allowed to use her phone and is reportedly barred from doing so by her father. Priya Prakash’s father say that he has taken this decision to protect his daughter.

“There is no SIM card in the phone that Priya carries. We are yet to allow her to make calls using a mobile phone. Priya receives her calls in her mother’s mobile phone.” Prakash Varrier is quoted as saying.

Recalling the day when her daughter’s video went viral, Prakash Varrier said that on that day, one of his colleagues sent him the video on his phone and when he asked her if he knew who she was, the friend replied in negative and he told him that the girl is his daughter.

“I realized then the video had clicked, a bit too much I think!” Varrier added.

Dubbed ‘internet’s latest crush’, Priya Prakash has apparently been getting a lot of movie offers. If reports in the Indian media are to be believed, Priya may make her Bollywood debut opposite Ranveer Singh in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film Simmba.
