Protest rallies across Pakistan as police torture protesters in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Protest rallies started in different cities of Pakistan after police baton charged and shelled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) protestors in Islamabad, ARY News reported.

According to details, PTI workers staged a protest in Sialkot’s China chowk while Multan’s Nawa Shehr chowk was blocked by placing barriers.

Protestors are demanding immediate resignation from rulers.

Police baton charged the protesters at Rawalpindi’s Moti Mahal chowk while PTI workers gathered at Gate chowk in Faislabad.

PTI’s young protestors staged a sit-in at Hyderabad Bypass and blocked traffic while Sunni Tehreek (ST) workers also protested against police brutality on PAT, PTI workers by burning tires.

Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) staged a sit-in at Karachi’s Numaish chowrangi and chanted slogans against the government.

While in a tragic incident, Punjab police also shelled protestors in Lahore’s Liberty chowk further infuriating the participants of the protest.

It must be remembered that scores of protestors have been killed and many injured when police manhandled PTI and PAT workers protesting in Islamabad’s red zone.
