PSL 2017 final will be played in Lahore, insists Sethi
DUBAI: Chairman PSL Najam Sethi has insisted that the final of the league’s second edition will be played in Lahore even if foreign players refuse to tour the country, ARY News reported.
Pakistan Super League (PSL) chief Sethi said that the nation wants international cricket to return to the country. He added that terrorists will never achieve their objectives.
Sethi said that foreign players have expressed their concerns over the security situation following the suicide blast which killed at least 13 people.
“Pakistani players will play the final of the cricket league if international players refuse to tour Pakistan,” he said.
He went on to say that Pakistan Super League is the country’s asset and their hopes are pinned on it.
Sethi said that he is in talks with Punjab government and promised that the players will be given full security in the PSL final.
At least 13 people, including two top police officers of Punjab, were killed and around 108 people were injured in a suicide attack during protests staged by chemists at Lahore’s Mall Road.
The final of Pakistan Super League’s second edition is subjected to be contested in Lahore on 7th March, 2017.
