PSL: Afridi, Malan star as Zalmi drub Gladiators by eight wickets

SHARJAH: A five wicket haul by Peshawar Zalmi skipper Shahid Afridi and a 60-run knock by Dawid Malan helped the side drub Quetta Gladiators by eight wickets in their Pakistan Super League (PSL) encounter on Sunday evening, ARY News reported.

Quetta Gladiators won the toss and chose to bat first in the match.

Batting first, the Gladiators were all out on 129 runs in 18 overs. Grant Elliott was the top scorer with 40 runs which included two fours and a six while Ahmed Shehzad scored 21 runs from 17 balls with the help of two boundaries and three maximums.

Afridi took four wickets in his four overs and conceded just seven runs. Wahab Riaz grabbed two wickets as well.

Peshawar Zalmi, chasing 130 runs to win, reached the target in 18.4 overs with eight wickets to spare.

Dawid Malan made an unbeaten 60 runs from 52 balls which included six boundaries and a six whereas Mohammad Hafeez contributed 36 runs from 29 balls.

Zulfiqar Babar and Mohammad Nawaz grabbed a wicket each.

Shahid Afridi was named the Player of the match.
