ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday presented a plan it intends to implement in the first 100 days of government if elected to power after the upcoming general elections.

Speaking at a local hotel, PTI chief Imran Khan said this is the first time his party is going to contest 2018 elections with so much preparations and acknowledged that it had not made such preparations in the previous elections.

He said they will utilize valuable experience they have learnt by governing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to lead the country if they form the government after the elections.

“We have learnt a lot from PTI’s government in KP. This 100-plan reflects the path my party will follow after coming to power,” he said.

Mr. Khan said billions of rupees have been siphoned off with those behind the plundering of the national exchequer not being held to account.

Senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi while highlighting the party’s plan said his party’s government will promote the idea of federal unity and strengthen the federation as well as depoliticize state institution to improve the condition of the country.

Qureshi said the party would undertake a number of sweeping reforms and ensure the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

No one cares about Fata more than Imran Khan as Fata reforms is his long-standing dream, he said and added the party will do away with the oppressive system and create employment opportunities for people of the tribal region.

Qureshi said his party will also bring disgruntled Baloch people into the mainstream and undertake measures to improve the socio-economic conditions of the underprivileged areas.

He said the PTI also plans to carve out a new province in South Punjab.

The condition of Karachi has gone from bad to worse within ten years, the PTI leader said and added the first and foremost priority of his party’s government will be improving security situation in the metropolis and then eradication of menace of land-grabbing and extortion.

He said the PTI will work for development of Karachi, which is suffering from hours of load-shedding and is gasping for water. It will empower local government so that it could undertake reforms.

Special focus will be given to improving education system and healthcare facilities, he added.
