ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Asad Qaiser has submitted his nomination papers for the slot of Speaker of the National Assembly in the assembly secretariat.
The joint opposition’s candidate, Syed Kursheed Shah, has also obtained nomination papers to contest the election of NA Speaker office.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl chief Maulana Fazl’s son Asad Mehmood has got the papers for the slot of NA Deputy Speaker.
Nomination papers can be received by 12:00pm today. The election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be held tomorrow.
PTI has nominated Qasim Suri for the office of NA Deputy Speaker.
The inaugural session of 15th National Assembly was held on Monday as 331 members of the lower house of the parliament took oath.
In Sindh Assembly, nomination papers for the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the legislature will be received till 5:00 pm today.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed by 6:00 pm and final list of candidates will be issued by 7:00 pm today.
The election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be held tomorrow through secret ballot.
