PTI demands deployment of troops in by-elections

Imran Khan leading a delegation of his party called on Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Sardar Raza Khan today.

After the meeting talking to media, the PTI chief said he demanded for deployment of the Army troops during by-elections in National Assembly constituencies NA-122 and NA-154.

CEC Sardar Raza assured the PTI delegation that the shortcomings in the past will not be repeated in future elections, Imran Khan told media.

He said the PTI delegation also demanded implementation of the recommendations of the Judicial Commission.

Imran Khan said that in the meeting he reiterated the PTI demand of resignation of the members of the election commission.

It is pertinent to mention that the CEC in an earlier statement said that the members of the election commission will not resign from his office under the pressure from any politician.

PTI delegation also raised the issue of threats to election tribunal judges and their removal from the posts, Imran Khan said.
