PTI expels MPA, issue warnings to leaders over irregularities in KP LB polls

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) expelled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly member Amjad Afridi from the party ranks over irregularities in local government polls in KP and issued warnings to several leaders, ARY News reports.

According to details, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had formed a committee, headed by the party’s Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, to investigate the complaints over irregularities in the local bodies elections.

The committee was also included Naeem-ul-Haq, Saifullah Khan Niazi and Fazal Khan.

Tehreek-e-Insaf dismissed KP Assembly member Amjad Afridi from the party after he was found guilty. The party has also declared Yasin Khalil ineligible for party and government positions over stopping the counselors to cast their votes.

Warnings have been issued to National Assembly member Shahryar Afridi and member of KP Assembly Ziaullah Bangash over irresponsible behavior during the local government polls whereas Azam Khan Swati has also been warned by the committee over failing to protect the party’s interests.
