Tomorrow an important day, says Fawad

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said on Tuesday that tomorrow is an important day as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led federal government is going to unveil its economic agenda.

“The balance of payments and financial emergency resulting from the previous government’s disastrous economic policy were dealt with in the first five months [of the government]. Now we are giving our economic vision. 2019 is the year of accomplishment of actual targets,” he said in a tweet.

Earlier, on Jan 12, Finance Minister Asad Umar announced that no new tax would be introduced in the upcoming mini-budget which is likely to be unveiled on Jan 23 (tomorrow).

Addressing a ceremony at Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Asad Umar said that the government would present the mini-budget aimed at boosting investment and ease of doing business in the country.

He said that the government would bring reforms to facilitate the business community and would address their difficulties particularly in tax regime.

The minister said that Pakistan’s progress was linked with the progress of Karachi and Balochistan. He added their policies would bear fruit soon, bringing an end to difficult times.

Mr Umar said that ease of doing business was a part of the PTI’s manifesto.
