PTI has complete support of all coalition partners, says Aleem Khan

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf senior leader and former minister, Aleem Khan, on Thursday said that an alliance formed with Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) was progressing well and all coalition partners were standing alongside, with full support to PTI, ARY News reported.

He said, “All people, who are currently sitting with the PTI-led government, belong to us.”

Aleem Khan, while interacting with journalists, expressed his views that the national economy put into deep crisis following wrong policies of previous governments.

He said that the present government was well-aware about difficulties of nationals facing additional burden on the hike in gas and electricity prices. He clarified that Prime Minister Imran Khan has top priority to provide relief to the nation.

The politician refused to comment over ongoing proceedings of the case filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against him. He said, “I will not make any comment over NAB case.”

When question for amendments in anti-corruption regulations, Khan said that he cannot deliver any suggestion [for amendment of NAB law] as it will not be considered as prejudiced.

The PTI leader complained that it was not appropriate to make any suggestion, for changes in the laws, as he also became a victim of NAB laws. Khan also clarified that he was not being consulted in jail.

Commenting over the bail of former prime minister, Aleem Khan said that the [Supreme Court’s] decision was in accordance with law for granting bail on medical grounds to Nawaz Sharif. He said that anyone has the right to receive treatment if suffering from an ailment.

On Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) political campaign, he rejected that Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari led train march could be a cause of worry to the PTI government. He added that the train march failed to gather crowd at any place.

Aleem Khan denied of having any information regarding Fayyazul Hassan Chohan for assuming charge of local government in Punjab.

Khan is currently facing two references pertaining to offshore companies and assets beyond his sources of income.

Earlier in the day, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad ordered to produce Punjab’s former minister and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on May 2 in PTV, Parliament attack case.

The ATC judge served notice to the Station Head Officer (SHO) of Secretariat police station for security arrangements with regard to Aleem Khan’s court appearance on May 2.
