ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secretary general Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday termed party chairman Imran Khan’s former wife Reham Khan’s coming book pre-poll rigging and demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ban it.

Addressing a press conference here, the PTI leader questioned the timing of the book, saying why it is coming out ahead of the general elections scheduled on July 25.

He said he sees ‘Jati Umra’ behind the scheme of the book. “PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi held a press conference three days after the Panama verdict in which he said the book will be released before the elections. Reham’s pictures with Abbasi are also evident to all,” he said.

Reham Khan frequently visited London, Istanbul and Five Star Island where does the money to visit these places come from, he questioned.

Chaudhry asked Reham to clarify her position with regard to the malicious allegations levelled in her book within 24 hours or else legal action would be taken against her.

He said there are also reports of a meeting between Maryam Nawaz and Reham Khan. Besides, other PML-N leaders had also previously pointed toward the allegations levelled in the book. How did they come to know about its content in advance, he asked and alleged it is visible that this entire network is being operated from Raiwind.

He said this book is aimed to target Imran Khan and other party leaders, adding that such schemes were also spun in the past to defame political leaders.

Referring to the alleged emails’ exchange between former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal and Reham, he demanded that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) should probe these emails.

He said the PTI also reserved the right to take action against Reham over her book.
