KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA-elect Faisal Vawda on Wednesday said that he will go all out to bring culprits behind the 2012 Baldia factory fire incident to justice, ARY News reported.
Speaking exclusively to ARY News, Vawda said that he will personally pursue 2012 Baldia factory inferno case as his constituency (NA-249) comprises the Baldia Town area where the horrific incident occurred.
“Whoever is behind this crime will be executed, be it from MQM or any other party,” said Vawda.
Vawda, who was answering questions after PTI successfully managed to woo rival Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to enter into an alliance with the party in the center, said that the culprits will be brought to justice whether they are from MQM or Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP).
He made it clear that his party, which will form government in the center, will not back off from punishing anyone involved in criminal activities be it from the party or its allies.
“This alliance (with MQM) is not like that of purana (old) Pakistan, a political settlement does not mean we or our allies are above the law,” said Vawda.

More than 250 labourers lost their lives when the factory Ali Enterprises, located in city’s Baldia Town area, was allegedly set ablaze in September 2012.
However, the loved ones of the victims are still awaiting justice and the verdict in the case has not been announced.
A major development took place after three years in 2015 as the investigation report stated that the factory was set ablaze on the directives of a political party’s stakeholder.
“The fire that engulfed the factory was an outcome of a pre-planned scheme and that it was no accident,” revealed the Joint Investigation Team report. “The factory was set ablaze over non-payment of bhatta – extortion money.”
Sources said the JIT report stated that MQM sector in-charge Rehman alias Bhola and Karachi Tanzeemi Committee (KTC) in-charge Hammad Siddiqui had demanded Rs 200 million extortion from owners of the factory.
