PTI mulls over dissolving KP Assembly: sources

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is considering dissolving the Khyber Pakhtonkhwa Assembly in a bid to reassert its demand for resignation of the prime minister and reformation of democratic system in the country, ARY News reported Sunday.

Sources told ARY News that the PTI, under the leadership of Imran Khan is mulling to dissolve KP assembly as well as resigning from the Punjab Assembly to pressurize the incumbent PML-N government to accept its demands. Khan has also summoned all his ministers and senior party leaders to discuss the issue.

It is also learnt that PTI chief will make an important announcement in his address at 3pm today in Islamabad.

If the party leadership gives the go-ahead for the extreme step then KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak might sign the summary for dissolving the KP Assembly.

Meanwhile, the Jamaat-e-Islami has also convened its party’s parliamentary meeting in Islamabad in view of the current political scenario.
