PTI rally against rigging in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) carried out a rally demanding reforms in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and protesting against alleged rigging in the general elections on Friday (today), ARY News reports.

The rally was led by Senior Vice-Chairman PTI Shah Mehmood Qureshi. The rally was taken out from PTI office to the office of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

Shah Mehmood Qureshi, while addressing the rally, said that the party received a letter from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif regarding reforms in the electoral process of the country. He also said that the Premier is ready to make amendment in the election process and the issue will be resolved via dialogue.

Qureshi said that a demonstration will be held on 22nd June at Bahawalpur and warned that sit-ins will be held in every district of South Punjab if the federal government creates any deadlocks.

“We are protesting in a peaceful and democratic manner”, he added.
