It should be noted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in a public address in Swat today, had criticized politics on roads.
Earlier in the day, the Senate passed a motion for formation of a committee to frame Terms of References (TORs) to probe Panama Papers claims. The motion to form a 12-member committee was presented by Law Minister Zahid Hamid.
Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani walked out of the House in protest, saying he should have been consulted before presenting the motion. After his walkout, Barrister Javed Abbasi conducted the proceedings.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) and FATA senators staged a walkout from Senate as they did not get a reply to their questions from treasury benches.
The opposition has decided to write two separate letters to the National Assembly and Senate, submitting three names each to the NA speaker and chairman Senate.
Taking exception to federal ministers, Senator Babar Awan,said they don’t give importance to the Senate and in case of their presence, they don’t come up with satisfactory answers to opposition’s queries.
