ISLAMABAD: A six-member delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by party’s vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi will hold a meeting with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri in Lahore today (Saturday).

An announcement of a joint action plan aimed at bringing the culprits of Model Town carnage to justice is expected today after a meeting at Minhajul Quran Secretariat in Lahore.

According to a statement issued by the PTI’s central media department, the party leadership thoroughly discussed Justice Baqar Najafi’s probe report into killings of 14 activists of PAT in Model Town.

The leadership demands immediate resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, the statement read.

PTI chief Imran Khan has assured his full support to the PAT chief to bring the culprits of Model Town incident to justice.

“We will join Qadri, if he hits the road to seek justice,” Khan said while talking to media persons on Thursday.

The PTI delegates include Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jehangir Tareen, Chaudhry Sarwar, Aleem Khan, Ijaz Chaudhry and Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed.

Separately, the PTI’s core committee has also decided that the party would soon come up with a comprehensive strategy to protest against the recent US decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

“The PTI is keenly awaiting the outcome of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting scheduled to be held on December 13,” the statement said, adding that the PTI condemns in strongest words the US move that stirred unrest in the Islamic world.

“Khan is ready to lead a campaign aimed at showing solidarity with the people of Palestine,” the statement further read.
