PTI to oppose any move suppressing long march

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said on Monday he will face the first bullet fired at the protesters, if a civil martial law is imposed in case of a march, while, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lawmaker, Senator Jehangir Badar said shooting unarmed and innocent people is no democracy, it is rather monarchy, ARY News reported.

Addressing a ceremony on Monday, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi said a democratic government which cannot provide rights to the people, should be dismissed.

The PTI leader said he will face the first bullet if a martial law is imposed again in the state.

PPP secretary general, Senator Jehangir Badar when rulers order to shoot at innocent people, then it cannot be termed as democracy, it is monarchy rather.

Moreover, different political figures and intellectuals at the ceremony also supported strengthening of the democratic institutions and giving the right of peaceful protest to the people.
