Punjab Assembly approves resolution against Altaf Hussain

LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly has approved a condemning resolution against Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain on Tuesday, ARY News reported.

The opposition of Punjab Assembly proposed a resolution condemning the statement of Altaf Hussain in which he invited the military to take over, which was unanimously approved by Punjab Assembly.

The resolution was moved by the Opposition Leader Mian Mahmoodur Rashid.

Mian Mahmoodur Rashid had demanded for the resolution before but it was turned down by Speaker of Punjab stating that there wasn’t any need for the resolution but later he allowed to present the resolution.

Altaf Hussain’s Statement

Earlier, during the interview on a private TV channel Altaf Hussain had asked Army to take over the charge, if government doesn’t able to handle Taliban’s issue.

MQM Chief further said that government’s writ should be accepted by everyone, if government doesn’t able to deal Taliban, Army should take over the power to counter terrorism.
