Punjab Gov't shuffles more than 20 thousand school teachers
LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has decided to shuffle more than 20 thousand school teachers from their current postings; this is the first time that school teachers are being transferred on such a huge scale – ARY News reports.
On one hand, the Education Department transferred female school teachers to schools several kilometers away from their homes, whereas the husband-wife working in a same city under the Wed-Lock Policy, have also been affected due to this shuffling.
The Ministry of Education stated that the transfers were made under the Rationalization and Re-allocation of Teaching Posts Policy, and the teachers were shifted from the schools having excess number, to the schools which were short of teaching staff.
Moreover, the leaders of the teaching associations have demanded the Punjab Government to withdraw its decision of large-scale transfers, for it is greatly increasing the issues of school teachers.
