Punjab Gov't, World Bank to cooperate in various fields

LAHORE: Officials of the Government of Punjab and World Bank have agreed upon extending cooperation in different fields, whilst the Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif has said that his government is taking concrete measures for rapid economic growth in the province – ARY News reports.

According to details, a delegation of the World Bank met the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Friday and exchanged views with him on development projects and bringing improvement in different sectors. Officials of the Punjab Government and World Bank agreed upon extending cooperation in light manufacturing, urban development, agri-business, mining, information technology and skill development.

On this occasion, CM Shahbaz Sharif said that the Punjab Government is taking radical measures for rapid economic development in the province. He told that durable economic growth will not only produce employment opportunities, but it will also stabilize the economy of the state.

Shahbaz further said that the Government is heading speedily for resolving the energy crisis under a comprehensive strategy and vowed to produce lacs of employment opportunities in the province during the next 4 years.

The officials of World Bank while praising Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park project, said that several new jobs will be created by the accomplishment of this project.
