LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has written a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) pertaining to new delimitations formed in the province for the Local Body (LB) elections – ARY News reports.
The Minister for Local Bodies, Rana Sanaullah has said that there is ambiguity in law making for authorizing the ECP to form delimitations in Punjab. He told that the issue is stated before the ECP in the letter.
The letter further requested the ECP to call a meeting of the representatives from all the four provincial governments in this regard.
A few days earlier, Rana Sanaullah had said that if the new delimitations were not accepted by the ECP, then it will be difficult to conduct LB elections even by 2016.
